Mr. Floyd E. “Gene" Hawthorne, 86, of Morris, Ill., passed away with his loving family by his side in his home Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2012.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, p.m. at U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, IL. Cremation Rites were accorded and private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey, Ill.

Born Dec. 30, 1925, in Vandalia, Ill., he was the son of Floyd and Helen Daniels Hawthorne.  He received his education in the schools in Vandalia and graduated from Vandalia High School with the Class of 1942.
