New charges filed in Octoberfest DUI crash
Driver's blood alcohol level was nearly four times legal limit
COAL CITY — The Coal City man who injured three Coal City public works employees cleaning up at the end of the village's annual Octoberfest has been charged with aggravated DUI for the incident.
Grundy County State's Attorney John Bates said charges were filed Monday against Thomas C. Brown, 42, of Coal City.
According to previous reports, just before 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6, the accident was reported at south Broadway and Oak Streets in Coal City. First responders said one city employee was getting out of a truck with a trailer attached when he was hit by Brown, while two other employees nearby were also injured.
