ROUNDUP: Newark defeats Seneca

SOMONAUK — Seneca was outscored in every quarter on its way to a 42-29 varsity girls basketball loss to Newark Tuesday at the Tim Humes Breakout Tournament.

"We struggled finding a way to put the ball in the hole against a good Newark team," Seneca coach Barb Beck said. "I felt the ladies showed more patience tonight than last. We will continue to work on finding some different combinations."

Kayla Milakis of Newark was the game's leading scorer with 12 points. Mallory Misener scored 9 points to lead Seneca (0-2), which got 7 from Kayla Haines.

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
