The Prairie Singers mark their 25th Christmas season with a series of concerts in the local area.

The Singers return to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Seneca, for their first concert, Sunday, Dec. 2, as was such 25 years ago when the Singers were formed. The concert will be at 1 p.m. in the beautiful gothic atmosphere of St. Patrick’s.

Later that afternoon, at 4 p.m. Dec. 2, the singers will arrive at West Lisbon Church, Newark for a late afternoon concert. Both concerts are open to the public with a free will offering being taken.

The Singers continue their season at the Dwight Prairie Creek Library, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4,  an evening of traditional songs will be presented free to the public.

The Ottawa Reddick Mansion will host three concerts, Dec. 7-9. A buffet meal will be served with very limited seating available for $28. Concert times will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday  Dec. 8. A 1 p.m. concert will be given Sunday, Dec. 9. Reservations are required. Call the Mansion at (815) 433-6100.

The Prairie Singers are a chamber ensemble comprised of singers from Grundy, La Salle, Livingston and Kendall counties. The group performs literature from a broad range of historical periods, along with a wide variety of show tunes, popular and classical favorites.

The choral ensemble welcomes membership inquiries from interested singers. Information concerning group or performance scheduling may be obtained by contacting George McComb, 6830 O’Malley Road, Verona, Ill., 60479, or call (815) 287-9806.

Prairie Singers add third performance at Reddick Mansion

The Prairie Singers, celebrating their 25th Christmas season, will perform in dinner concert at the Reddick Mansion the weekend of Dec. 7-9.

Because the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon concerts have already sold out, a third performance on Friday evening, Dec. 7, has been added. This year’s concert, “The Prairie Singers’ 25th Best” will highlight 25 years of their favorite Christmas music along with a tribute to Andy Williams.
