Published: Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 2:58 p.m. CDT

MINOOKA — Minooka Hair Cuttery is hosting the “Cut for a Cause” haircut-a-thon fundraiser as well as a bake sale from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, to benefit Minooka Community High School teacher Sam Paveklka.

Pavelka, who is also a father, is battling Ewing’s sarcoma once again despite having been in remission for seven years. The cut-a-thon is raising funds for Pavekla and his family to help offset the financial burden.

Hair cuts will be $10 each and 100 percent of the funds earned will go directly to the family. The event will also feature raffles.

Hair Cuttery is located at 2047 Ridge Road next to the Jewel at the  corner of Ridge Road and U.S. 6. For additional information, call the Hair Cuttery at (815) 467-8170.
