WILMINGTON, Ill. — Mrs. Dorothy Mae Gartke, 86, of Wilmington, Ill., passed away Friday morning, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet.

Dorothy was raised in Braidwood, Ill., and worked as a seamstress at Grinchuck's Pants Factory in Braidwood prior to marriage. On Dec. 11, 1943, she married Raymond W. Gartke Jr. at Camp Van Dorn in Mississippi, and together they made their home in Wilmington.

Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington and had a love for cooking, canning, gardening, and traveling. Dorothy was always there for her family and treasured being involved with her children and grandchildren.
