NEWARK, Ill. — Mrs. Dorothy Eileen Christian, 92, of Newark, Ill., went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Ill.

Born Aug. 17, 1920, in Franklin Grove, Ill., Dorothy was the daughter of Russell C. and Bertha (Boyd) Hughes, Sr.

Dorothy was united in marriage on June 19, 1943 in Helmar Lutheran Church in Newark, Ill., to Howard T. Christian. They were blessed with 69 happy years together. She was a school teacher for 22 years in the Lisbon and other area one room schools.
