(MCT) — Tony La Russa, fired as Chicago White Sox manager in 1986, will attend SoxFest next month as part of the 30th anniversary celebration for the 1983 “Winning Ugly” team that won the American League West.

Among others from that team attending the Jan. 25-27 event at the Palmer House Hilton will be Harold Baines, 1983 rookie of the year Ron Kittle, slugger Greg Luzinski and former player and broadcaster Tom Paciorek

Also in attendance will be Hawk Harrelson, who was an announcer in 1983 but was the general manager who fired La Russa in '86. They since have patched up any hard feelings.
