Beatrice V. Jones
Mrs. Beatrice V. "Bea" Jones, 96, of Morris, and formerly of Emington, Ill., passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2013, at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Born Sept. 4, 1916, in Pontiac, Ill., Beatrice was the daughter of Harvey and Ollie M. (Davis) Odom. She graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1935.
Bea married Francis L. Flint on Nov. 20,1937, in Kentland, Ind. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1957. She married Reginald Jones Jan. 14, 1962, in Morris. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1985.
Bea and her husbands worked side by side, farming for many years in the Manteno and Emington areas.
In 1985, she moved to Morris to make her home so she would be closer to her family. She enjoyed camping, cooking and sewing, along with spending time visiting with her many friends and family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morris.
Survivors include her three loving daughters, Bonnie Connor, Carol Kramer and her husband, Bill, of Morris, and Jackie Ferguson of Wilmington, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dianna Flint of Battle Creek, Mich.; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Frank Flint, who died on July 27, 2008; one sister, Marie Paquette; and one brother, Glenn Odom.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris. Rev. Deborah Percell of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow at Wesley Cemetery rural Wilmington, Ill.
Preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts in Bea’s memory directed to the activity department at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
