SANDWICH, Ill. — Open auditions are set for two upcoming musicals in Sandwich.

Auditions for “Annie” and “All Shook Up” will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13 and from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Monday, Jan. 14.

All auditions will be held at the Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad Street in Sandwich.

Auditions for “Annie” are open to any individual over the age of 7 years. All roles will be cast based on audition attendance, with parts available for young girls, adult men and women and a small mixed ensemble of various roles.  Performances will be March 21-24, 2013 at the Sandwich Opera House.  Rehearsals will be determined based on cast availability.

“Annie” began as a popular comic strip before taking center stage as one of the world’s best-loved musicals.

“All Shook Up” will feature more than 20 actors and actresses over the age of 14. Roles include parts for men and women of all ages. Performances will be June 7-9 and 14-16, 2013 at the Sandwich Opera House. Rehearsals will be determined based on cast availability.

Individuals who wish to audition may arrive at any time within the designated audition period and should prepare 32 measures of a song that best displays their vocal ability. Thespians will also participate in an acting audition.

Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, “All Shook Up” is the new musical that follows a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets.
