State police seize marijuana, shotgun during traffic stop

Illinois State Police District 17 seized two pounds of cannabis and a sawed-off shotgun after a routine traffic stop Jan. 4.

Jessie Jones, 18, of Moffat Co., the passenger of the vehicle stopped, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm.

Jamison Wojciechowski, 23, of Crestone, CO, the driver, was arrested on a charge of possession of cannabis.

A Black 1993 Honda Accord was stopped at almost 2 p.m. Jan. 4 on Interstate 80 eastbound.

The officer noticed the smell of cannabis and conducted a search.

The two pounds of cannabis were found and a loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.
