Car-semi crash ties up I-55 near Pontiac

(MCT) — PONTIAC — State police were called late Monday night to an accident scene involving one car and an overturned semitrailer trucks on Interstate 55 near Pontiac.

Police were called about 9:15 p.m. to milepost 203 to respond to the accident, which partially blocked both sides of the interstate.

One car was badly damaged and a truck carrying dry goods was on its side. A second truck hauling beer reportedly was in a ditch, but evidently wasn't directly involved in the accident.

Ambulances were called to the scene, but whether anyone was injured was unclear. Additional information was unavailable Monday night.
