I’m writing regarding the story, “USF students organize food drive to benefit DayBreak shelter,” which I believe appeared on 1/13/13.
I am concerned that the article inaccurately portrays Daybreak Center as occasionally not providing food to hungry children, which isn’t the case.
While it is sometimes a struggle for us to provide for the many hungry clients and community members who come to Daybreak Center/Shepherd’s Table, and we greatly appreciate and certainly rely on generous contributions, we do not turn away hungry children.
I hope this helps to clarify. Please let me know if you need additional information.
