Char Orndorff is the director of Morris Mobile Meals, which has just launched its new website.

Homebound Morris individuals and their families can now easily receive assistance using a computer thanks to the new Morris Mobile Meals website at morrismobilemeals.wordpress. com.

Business owners and others who want to assist fellow community members can also gain information easily by way of the new site.

In 1977, a group of people, seeing a need in the community, formed the not-for-profit 501(c) 3 organization with the state of Illinois.

From that day forward, homebound individuals were able to receive hot, nutritious meals right at their doorstep. Thanks to the generosity of volunteers, home delivery is available seven days a week, including holidays.

The meals are prepared and packaged at the Morris Hospital, located at 150 West High Street. Registered dietitians adhere to dietary guidelines prescribed by each individual’s physician and personal preferences.

Each day, volunteers begin the delivery day at 11:30 a.m.

Additional volunteers are always welcome. Serving as a Morris Mobile Meals volunteer makes one eligible to earn community service hours.

Monetary donations, gifts of time and/or office supplies are gratefully received. The following have generously donated to Morris Mobile Meals: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, First Baptist Church, First Christian Church, First Midwest Bank, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Grundy Bank, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Morris Hospital, Morris Women’s Club, New Community Christian Church, Peace Chapel Assembly of God, Peace Lutheran Church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church and Venturing Crew. For more information, contact Morris Mobile Meals Director Char Orndorff at (815) 200-4942 or go online to morrismobilemeals.wordpress.com.
