WASHINGTON – Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) has joined the No Labels congressional problem solvers.
This group of 24 members of Congress — Democrats and Republicans from both the House and Senate — has committed to meeting regularly to build trust across the aisle.
The group has been organized by No Labels, a grassroots movement of conservatives, liberals and everything in between, who are committed to a new politics of problem solving. The problem solvers group is growing rapidly, and was unveiled in its entirety this week at the No Labels Meeting to Make America Work! in New York City.
“In the coming months, Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike must work together to tackle serious fiscal reforms including the sequester and the debt ceiling,” said Congressman Kinzinger, who now represents Illinois' 16th District. “The American people chose a divided government in Washington and they’re counting on us to work together.”
Congressman Kinzinger is joined by fellow Illinois Congressman Dan Lipinski. In Kinzinger’s first term, he and Lipinski authored bipartisan legislation that overwhelmingly passed through the House known as the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act, to boost this vital sector of the economy.
Working together, Congressmen Lipinski and Kinzinger are committed to getting the bill signed into law to revitalize manufacturing in America and help create good-paying, stable jobs for the middle class.
“I’m looking forward to working with my Illinois colleague, Congressman Lipinski, as well as the other members of No Labels, to have the bipartisan discussions that are desperately needed in Washington to cut through the gridlock and find common sense solutions that will get our nation back on track,” Kinzinger continued.
“The public wants members of Congress to come together and solve problems for the good of the American people,” said Congressman Lipinski, the representative from Illinois' 3rd District. “But one of the biggest impediments is that Washington has many get-togethers limited to Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, progressives, this interest group or that interest group; there had been almost nowhere to gather for members of Congress who want to come together out of these cocoons to solve problems for the nation as a whole.
