Grundy County will have a new human resources person starting soon.

Grundy County Chairman Ron Severson said Lindsay Ferguson accepted the county’s offer and will be the county’s part-time human resources director.

“She starts one week from Monday,” he said.

Ferguson will be coming to the county with six years experience in human resources at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, said Severson.

The county’s previous director, Denise Kasper, resigned from the position in November with one day notice. She said then she was taking another job.

Kasper was full-time, but Ferguson will be part-time, saving the county about $40,000, said Severson, since she will be paid per hour and not receive benefits.

In talking with the assistant in the human resources department, Severson said it was decided a full-time director was not needed.

When Kasper quit in November, the county was in the process of trying to find a new county administrator. That process has been put on hold until a human resources director could be hired.
