Viola Margaret Mathisen

DWIGHT, Ill. — Mrs. Viola Margaret (Larson) Mathisen, 99, of Dwight, Ill., and formerly of Gardner, Ill., passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Heritage Woods in Dwight.

Born Jan. 14, 1914, in Dwight, to the late Ole and Christina (Paulson) Larson, Viola was a member of the Church of Hope in Gardner. She was previously employed by the Gardner-South Wilmington High School, working in the cafeteria.  She also helped deliver flowers for the former Pats Floral in Gardner.

Surviving are her son, Larry Mathisen of Long Beach, Calif.; her daughter, Barbara Welch of Naperville, Ill.;  three grandchildren, Vicki (Kevin) Gallagher, Richard (Kim) Welch, and LeAnne DeSelm; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Hanley of Morris, Ill., and Virgina Zdrog of St. Louis, Mo.
