"You did what in your wedding dress?"

When people see the two accompanying photos, as well as several others in my wedding album, I often get "You laid on the ground in your wedding dress? Weren't you worried about your dress?"

Not in the slightest.

I laid on the cement in my dress, in the grass, I walked through gravel and a beach, sat on a stone wall, rode in a 1981 Trans Am that reeked of high octane fuel with the T-tops off, drove in a Camaro convertible with the top down and even ate barbecue ribs in my wedding dress.

Why the heck not? Most brides only get to wear their dress once so what does it matter? It's not like you have to worry about ruining it before you wear it again. I even wore mine twice and still did all these crazy things.

I did it because there is only one time in my life where I get to have a photographer follow me around all day while I'm wearing the most beautiful thing that will ever grace my body. My husband and I looked damn good and I wanted as many pictures as possible of us looking amazing in breathtaking locations.

I did manage to eat my ribs with out dripping barbecue sauce on my dress, but that was because I was not ashamed to wear a bib. I did, however, get sand and even small bugs stuck in the lace of my dress, and the bottom of my gown was covered in dirt. But I wouldn't change a thing.

Check out how amazing these pictures are! I can't take credit for the ideas though. Sarah Peterson of Dutch Girl Photography took note of some of the fun things about my husband and I, such as my passion for shoes and his love of his baby -- the Trans Am, and found ways to include those facts about us in our wedding pictures.

These shots are some of my favorites and the ones that I want to display the most. Don't get me wrong, her shots are amazing of our first kiss, our first dance, and of our guests enjoying our big day. But giving her the freedom to be creative with our photos was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day.
