CHANNAHON — The Channahon Police Department will host its sixth Citizens Police Academy.

The Citizens Police Academy is a 12-week program allowing Channahon community members an opportunity to get a first-hand view of policing services.

Participants will get hands-on experience in a variety of law enforcement topics taught by members of the police department.

Classes will meet every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 14 to May 30. The goals of the Citizens Police Academy are to build a better relationship between the community and the department; and to give the community an opportunity to learn more about their police department.

Program information and applications are available at the Channahon Police Department, 24555 S. Navajo Dr., Channahon.  All participants must be 18 years old or older.

For information, email communityrelations@channahon.org or call (815) 467-5152.
