Area Roundup: Minooka girls bowling team headed to state

RICHTON PARK — With 5,831 pins, Minooka finished second at the 19-team Rich East Girls Bowling Sectional Saturday at the Lakewood Bowl and qualified for the state final tournament.

Minooka was led by Emily Koulis with a 1,234 series. Also bowling for the Indians were Danielle Grygiel with an 1,197, Allyson Lakota with a 1,156, Alison Warwick with a 1,128, Kayly Windbiel with a 785 and Nicole Segatto with a 331.

Morris finished seventh with a 5,442 and did not qualify any individuals for state. Savannah Strange was eighth individually with a 1,231, which made her a potential at-large individual. Morris also had Taylor Warwick place 14th with a 1,203.
