MINOOKA — Minooka Community High School will once again offer a driver education course this summer for area teenagers who do not attend Minooka Community High School.

The course is open to students who are 15 years old, who live within the boundaries of MCHS District 111, and who have completed at least eight high school credit hours.

There are two components to the course — classroom and behind the wheel. The classroom component of the course is scheduled from Wednesday, June 5, through Tuesday, July 2, and the behind the wheel component of the course will begin on Wednesday, June 5, and will end no later than Wednesday, July 10.  Information and registration forms may be picked up directly from students’ high school counselors (at the school they currently attend.)

To request an application or for more information, please call Bert Kooi at (815) 521-2338. Completed applications and fee payments are due to MCHS no later than March 9. A mandatory meeting for parents and students enrolled in the summer driver education course will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6 in the cafeteria at Minooka Community High School — South Campus.
