First responders are a blessing to the community they serve
To The Editor:
In the last week, we have had four major fires in the Morris area, which have resulted in one business being shut down and six families out of their homes.
Thankfully, no one has been injured or killed as a result.
I know that our community will, as always, help to provide comfort and assistance to the victims of the fires. That’s one important thing that makes Morris and Grundy County so special.
We need to be ever thankful to the brave firefighters and emergency responders who, at a moment’s notice, have sacrificed themselves in order to serve us and have braved not only these terrible fires, but the very challenging cold and windy weather conditions.
We are so fortunate to live in a community that has so many dedicated, qualified and experienced firefighters and emergency responders. We can never thank them enough for all of their efforts.
To all of those fire victims and all of the fire, police, ambulance and other emergency responders, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
