2013 Bridal Expo a ‘great success’

Over 130 future brides, 300 community members, 65 wedding vendors in attendance

SANDWICH — Brides lined the halls of Timber Creek Inn and Suites for a chance to be one of the first  to experience Bridal Expo Extravaganza 2013.

The early arriving brides were treated to exclusive “swag bags” filled with free goodies donated by vendors. 

Over 65 wedding and product service vendors from surrounding communities exhibited at the show.  Beautiful decorations, amazing wedding attire and delicious food adorned Timber Creek.

“For the third year in a row, we have successfully hosted an expo encompassing vendor exhibits, interactive booths and the highly anticipated runway fashion show,” stated Timber Creek’s Director of Sales Cindy Prohl.

“Our biggest attribute is having [Timber Creek’s convention center] grand area to work with.” 

Expo Coordinator Becky Nelson recorded over 130 brides and 300 community members that attended the show Sunday.

“The majority of the brides participated in our exclusive pre-registration campaign, which helps us track our overall attendance.” 

Nelson acknowledged several local vendors who graciously furnished prizes, which tend to motivate brides to include Timber Creek in their busy wedding planning schedules.

Exclusive giveaways in- cluded a romantic  honey moon/first anniversary stay in Timber Creek’s Jacuzzi suite, a dueling pianos evening out package for two including dinner and entertainment both provided by Timber Creek.

Additional prizes included a Spa Day for Two from Reflections Metro Salon and Day Spa, a Lingerie giveaway donated by Secret Desires, Ottawa and a maurices shopping gift card furnished by maurices, Yorkville.

There was a grand prize of two round trip airfare tickets to Mexico donated by Travel Services of Yorkville and Fun jet Vacations.

Brides and guests enjoyed the exhibits but stayed for the show!

The runway fashion show featured opening acts by Those Funny Little People, Naperville and Zumbetty of Rondi’s Self Fitness in Oswego.

Local high school students and volunteers from surrounding communities braved the runway to show off fashions including wedding, eveningwear and casual wear.

Models’ hair and makeup prep is furnished by Reflections Metro Salon and Day Spa and The Mary Kay Martin National Team.

Wedding attire was furnished by The Tuxedo Zone of Sandwich and Bella Bridal and Formalwear of Saint Charles.

Casual wear featuring bachelorette, rehearsal dinner and honeymoon fashions all provided by maurices of Yorkville.

Special thanks to our décor providers; Essentials of Dekalb/Sycamore, Floral Expressions, Oswego and Balloons Aloft located in Sandwich.

Emcee services provided by Jeff Doyle, Boulder Terrace Sound Oswego, Stage lighting furnished by Prism Lights DJ, Elburn.

Nelson thanks all of her volunteers, participants and prize donors for 2013.
