A Darien man was indicted on two counts of felony theft Wednesday following a year-long investigation by Morris police into fraudulent invoices and expense vouchers at Morris Hospital.

Daniel M. Dizon, 57, allegedly stole thousands of dollars from Morris Hospital, where he was employed, from 2009 to 2012 by authorizing phony invoices and personal expense vouchers.

“He was in a position at the hospital where he was authorized to approve expenditures,” said Morris Police Chief Brent Dite.

Through an investigation that began in March 2012, Morris police and the Grundy County State’s Attorney’s Office determined Dizon was stealing money from the hospital.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

“We are trying to locate him now,” Dite said.

Dizon faces Class 2 and Class 3 felony charges.

His bond has been set at $25,000.

Illinois State Police Zone 3 Investigation assisted.
