Have you ever tried to make plans for the family, but were frustrated that you could not find out what was happening in the area?

Are you part of an organization that has coordinated an event only to discover that another community activity was scheduled for the same night?

The Chamber has a solution that can help with both situations.

The Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry is pleased to announce the addition of a Community Calendar to the Chamber’s existing website – these pages are dedicated to the area’s recreational activities and business/ municipality information.

“For many years, the Chamber has hosted an events calendar that was primarily used by member businesses and local organizations. By opening access to all local businesses and organization, the Chamber will now host the most comprehensive, online calendar in the area,” said Caroline Portlock, executive director of the Chamber.

“The Chamber is the first place that most contact when information is needed. We field inquires ranging from housing, services and amenities available in the area.  Tourism-related inquires and recreational activities continue to be one of the top reasons people contact the Chamber.”

Members of the Chamber receive login information giving them the ability to post events directly to the calendar. Other local businesses and organizations can submit their information to the Chamber through the website or by emailing the office at info@grundychamber.com.  A member of the Chamber staff will then post the upcoming event in the Community Calendar.

When submitting information, please be sure to include as many details about the event as possible, including a contact name and phone number or email address for follow up.

The Community Calendar provides increased exposure for communities, attractions, festivals, and more.

Visit the Chamber’s website at www.grundychamber.com and click on Com-munity Calendar to check out what’s happening in the area or to post events.

Celebrating more than 65 years of service to the community, the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry is continuously working to improve the programs and services it offers its member businesses and organizations, as well as the communities it serves.
