Alcohol and drug charges follow traffic stop in Ottawa

A 19-year-old Leland man and a 20-year-old Ottawa man were arrested by La Salle County Sheriff’s police April 15 following a traffic stop in Ottawa.

Zachary D. Johnson, 19, of Leland, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and driving on the shoulder.

Johnson was also wanted on two La Salle County failure to appear warrants on charges of truancy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger, Adam R. Lucas-Bailey, 20, of Ottawa, was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Both were taken to La Salle County jail.
