Ward seeking donations to build baseball dugouts

NEWARK, Ill. — Zachary Ward, a Life Scout with Newark Boy Scout Troup 42, is working on his Eagle Project for the benefit of Newark Community High School in Newark, Ill.

For his project, Zach is planning the dismantling and rebuilding of the baseball dugouts in early or mid-May. The new dugouts will be made out of cinderblock with a concrete footing.  They will have a roof made of corrugated metal roof panels, and the supports will be made of treated lumber.

The project will involve supplies like tarps, paper towels, cleanup supplies, hand sanitizer, water and food.

Zach has gotten generous donations from the school boosters and individual donations from the community. He is in the process of asking local contractors for donations of time, materials and machinery for the rebuilding effort this month.

Zach is asking for monetary donations and donations of time and materials.  If you are interested in giving to this project, please contact Zach at 630-553-3374.

Zach would be happy to pick up the donation or talk to any interested party about the scope of the project and the materials needed.

Make checks payable to “Troop 42” and note in memo “Zach’s Eagle Project.”

Anyone who helps/donates to Zach’s project will have their names shown in some way to honor those who helped.
