The 30th annual Honors Recognition Night will be held Wednesday, May 15.
At that time, 194 Morris Community High School freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors will be recognized for academic achievement.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and dessert prepared and served by MCHS students, under the direction of Zan Higgins.
The program will follow in the varsity gym, where students will be individually recognized.
Each year’s Honors Recognition Night features a keynote speaker who shares inspirational and thoughtful comments.
This years speaker is Elizabeth Talarico, the valedictorian of the Morris Community High School Class of 1994. Talarico went on to earn degrees from the University of Notre Dame, Trinity College and Notre Dame Law School.
Talarico is currently serving in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. She has represented soldiers in a variety of legal situations in Colorado, Afghanistan, and Germany.
Talarico will share her experiences and keys to a successful career.
