There is no new information in the investigation into an assault that allegedly occurred behind Morris Community High School May 15, according to Morris Police Chief Brent Dite.

On Tuesday, the Morris Police Department announced that it is seeking a suspect described as an approximately 5-foot, 7-inch male with a dark skin tone, a “belly,” and facial hair who, at the time of the assault, was said to be wearing a Chicago Cubs tee-shirt, shorts and a baseball cap.

The alleged assault took place in the soccer field/wooded area behind the high school around 9 p.m. on a Wednesday night. Dite could not comment on details of the assault.

The investigation is on-going, he said.

Anyone with information concerning the event is urged to contact Det. Alicia Steffes of the Morris Police Department at (815) 941-6283 or Crimestoppers at (815) 942-9667.
