Police: Those on marina property subject to arrest

Published: Wednesday, July 10, 2013 11:27 a.m. CST

In the wake of complaints, Morris police are reminding residents that the marina property on the 1000 block of Cemetery Road is private property and people on the property are subject to arrest.

Morris police and the owners of the Marina property have received complaints of motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles on the property, as well as “late night gatherings” and theft of No Trespassing signs.

Morris police said in a statement that extra patrols will be conducted in the area and there will be a “zero tolerance” policy regarding persons found trespassing.

Those caught on the property illegally could face criminal trespass to property charges.

Not only is it illegal to be on the property without permission, the statement read, but it could be a dangerous area for those with motorcycles or ATVs.
