Grundy SWCD holding its tree, fish sales

Order forms due as early as September 5

The Grundy County Soil & Water Conservation District is holding its semiannual tree and fish sales. 

The trees, shrubs and plants that are available come in a variety of sizes and species. There are one-gallon evergreens, maples and oaks to burning bushes, dogwoods and viburnums.

The sale also features a selection of groundcovers and perennials to choose from, such as blackeyed susans, purple coneflowers,and daylilies.

For the fish sale, there is also an assortment of fish to choose from and in different lengths. From 4-6-inch channel catfish to 5-8-inch largemouth bass. There are also albino catfish that are 6-8-inches long.

To have an order form mailed, emailed or faxed, contact the office at (815) 942-0359, ext. 3, or stop by the office located in the USDA Service Center, 3605 N. Illinois 47, Morris. 

Both orders forms are also available on the website grundycountyswcd.weebly.com or the link can be found on Facebook by searching Grundy County Soil & Water Conservation District.

The tree order forms are due Thursday, Sept. 5 and will be delivered Thursday, Sept. 12.

For the fish orders, the triploid grass carp orders are due Thursday, Oct. 3 and all other orders are due by noon Tuesday, Oct. 15.  They will be delivered Tuesday, Oct. 22.
