One local business and two visitors to downtown Morris are still celebrating Liberty Days!

Maris Davidson of Morris and Jill Lowe of Marseilles each won a collection of gift certificates and gifts from downtown retailers and restaurants. Winners were selected from those who shopped at downtown stores during this year’s Liberty Days.

When Davidson received her basket she stated that she “felt like she won the lottery!”

Lowe was looking forward to shopping after attending the 3 French Hens French Country Market along the I & M Canal.

Kathy Watland of Serenity was awarded a $100 Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry Gift Certificate for her store’s patriotic window display.

All downtown retailers and restaurants were encouraged to create patriotic windows displays and were judged on their effective use of the patriotic theme, presentation of an eye-catching display, use of the display to draw people in, and overall appearance and creativity.

Windows were judged by members of the Morris Women’s Club.
