Traditional Latin Mass gets a more-stable spot
Fr. Valentine assigned to Rockdale church
ROCKDALE - Effective Aug. 5, Bishop Conlon has appointed Fr. Joseph R. Valentine FSSP as admininstrator of St. Joseph Parish in Rockdale.
This move will provide a much more stable “home” for the Traditional Latin Mass in the Joliet Diocese and, with God’s help, allow participants to solidify what they have accomplished and move forward in ways that were not possible before.
St. Joseph Parish Mass schedule, effective Aug. 6, includes the Saturday Vigil Mass (Novus Ordo) at 4:15 p.m. and Sunday Mass (Latin) at 10 a.m.
Monday through Friday, Mass will be celebrated in Latin at 7:30 a.m., while on Saturday mornings it will be at 8 a.m. (Latin). On the 3rd Saturday of the month, the Saturday morning Mass will be at the Poor Clares Monastery in Minooka.
For Holy Days of Obligation, the Vigil Mass will be in English at 7 p.m., if possible. On the Holy Day, Masses will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (Latin).
Confessions will be heard on Saturday, from 3:30 to 4 p.m.; Sunday at 9:30 a.m.; and Tuesday through Friday at 7 a.m. Holy Hour & Benediction will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
