JOLIET – The Joliet Jewish Congregation is continuing to mark several of the religion’s High Holidays during the month of September, including Erev Sukkot on Wednesday.
The congregation will hold first Day of Sukkot services at 9 a.m. on Thursday. The second Day of Sukkot will be marked on Sept. 20, with a potluck at 6 p.m., followed by services at 7 p.m.
Shemini Atzeret is Sept. 26. Services, with Yizkor service, will be held at 9 a.m. that day. Simchat Torah services will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 27.
The Joliet Jewish Congregation is located at 250 North Midland Ave., Joliet.
Shabbat Services for the Joliet Jewish Congregation will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evenings, while Saturday services are at 9 a.m.
The congregation usually hosts a Lunch and Learn every Thursday, although it is not taking place this month due to the High Holidays. This event will resume its regular meetings Oct. 3.
It is held from noon to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per week and those attending should RSVP at 815-741-4600.
The congregation’s Hadassah book club meets monthly at a congregant’s home to discuss Jewish works and authors. Please call the office for details and to RSVP.
