Street signs missing from Newark roadways

The village of Newark is missing several street signs.

Richard Lee Smith, the director of public works for Newark, called Kendall County deputies to the Newark Village Hall at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, to report that multiple street signs had been stolen.

Smith indicated two signs had been taken from the intersection of Front Street and Union Street. Two additional street signs, as well as a stop sign, had disappeared from the intersection of Front Street and Van Buren Street.

The value of the signs was placed under $500. There are no suspects at this time.
