Published: Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

MORRIS – The Morris Rotary is collecting gently used men and women’s coats for homeless veterans living on the streets.

More than half of all homeless living in the streets in Chicagoland, including Morris, are Vietnam veterans. The Morris Rotary Club is gathering coats until Oct. 25.

The coats will be taken to the veterans Stand Down Day in Chicago on Nov. 1.

To donate a coat, drop it off at Morris Dermatology on the corner of U.S. 6 West and Lakewood Drive or at The Morris Building and Loan, 211 E. Jefferson St., Morris.

For information, call Morris Rotarian John Carr at 815-274-2131.
