Published: Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

SENECA – The Seneca FFA Chapter is scheduled to host the 56th annual Seneca Club Calf Sale starting at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The sale will be at the Seneca High School Land Lab, which is a half mile west of Seneca on Route 6 and one mile north on 28th Road.

Fifteen leading beef herds from Northern Illinois will offer 32 Herefords, Angus, Shorthorn, Chi, Simmental and crossbred steers and heifers, according to a news release from the club. Viewing will begin at noon, and the sale will start at 2 p.m.

The calf sale gives young producers an opportunity to purchase beef projects for 4-H and FFA.

The FFA will serve butterfly and rib eye sandwiches. Everyone is invited to attend the event.

For information, call Kent Weber at Seneca High School, 815-357-5024 or 815-252-2749.
