Genealogical society to hold first meeting of year

COAL CITY – The Will/Grundy Genealogical Society will hold its opening meeting of the new year at 10 a.m. Jan. 11 at the Coal City Library, 85 N. Garfield St., Coal City.

The program for the meeting will be Research Assistance for Your Genealogy and will cover the following categories: Filling Out Forms: Getting Started With Your Family History; Citing Your Sources; Internet Research; and The WGGS Collection (Publications and Microfilm) at the Coal City Public Library.

Society members will be available to assist genealogists free of charge. The meeting will begin with a short business session and refreshments, attendees will be free to circulate among the various assistance positions held both in the meeting room and upstairs in the WGGS Collections Section.
