I.C.S. eighth-grader Joseph Corban and Bishop Daniel Conlon met January 17 during the prayer service and breakfast hosted by Bishop Conlon in Joliet.

JOLIET – The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Joliet each sent a representative to the University of St. Francis on Jan. 17 to participate in a prayer service and breakfast hosted by Bishop R. Daniel Conlon.

The representative for Immaculate Conception School, 505 E. North St. in Morris, was eighth-grader Joseph Corban. The students attending heard presentations made by Bishop Conlon and by the Rev. John Belmonte, superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Joliet.

Each student was given a candle to take back to their school. The candle presented to Joseph will be used as part of a prayer service that will kick off Catholic Schools Week at I.C.S. on Monday. “Breakfast with the Bishop” is an annual event that brings Catholic schools of the Diocese together as they prepare to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The week is traditionally held during the last week of January.
