Park board seeks feedback in Seneca
SENECA – The Seneca Park and Recreation Board is looking for community feedback in developing a long range plan for their parks and recreation facilities.
In December, the board bought an additional 15.7 acres of land at the west end of Williams Street for the development of a new park. The board currently oversees two other parks, which are Crotty Park and the LST Boat Launch.
Teska Associates consultants recently was retained to formulate a long-term plan in not only development of the new park but in updating existing parks. The Park Planning and Design Proposal will be in five phases. The phases include a needs assessment, developing a plan for a new park, master plans for Crotty Park and the LST Boat Launch, and a final review, refinement and implementation strategy.
With a master plan in place for all locations, future boards will have guidelines in place for updates and development of the parks and facilities.
Each household is urged to complete the survey available online or complete a copy of the survey, which are available at the village hall or Seneca Public Library. All completed surveys are to be dropped off at village hall or completed online no later than March 25. The link to the survey is available on the village website; www.senecail.org.
