Published: Friday, March 14, 2014 9:40 p.m. CDT

Sheriff Kevin Callahan reports that the Grundy County Sheriff’s office has received several complaints from residents in the Goose Lake area that have received telephone calls from subjects claiming to be from “Microsoft Security” or the “Windows Security Center.”

Callahan advises residents to get off the phone with these callers; do not give out any personal, credit card or bank information, attempt to obtain a telephone number and other details from the caller; and report the incident to the Grundy County Sheriff’s office at 815-942-0336.
