Minooka H.S. musicians excel at IHSA contest

MINOOKA – Several members of Minooka Community High School’s band program participated in the IHSA Solo/Ensemble Contest earlier this month at Kankakee High School.  

Earning first place ratings were: Hannah Schram, Megan Moses, Marissa Martinez, Lexi Froidcoeur, Allie Danielson, Rachel Wolz, Jenna Morgan, Andrew Jepsen, Natalie O’Brien, Eric Strand, Sarah Stepanek, Haley Ranieri, Zach Gurley, Carmella Russell, Jenna Laird, Barbara Spaulding, Dani Harris, Emily Worden, Daniel Sumner, Jenna Morgan, John Kauffman, Jacqueline Vela, Kyle Kobe, Valerie Kolb, Alec Peterson, Jonathan Harb, Erin Mathewson, Haley Ranieri and Kelli Anderson.

Earning second place ratings were Jennifer Vojvoda and Hayley Encinas.

Special congratulations also are extended to the brass quintet of Carmella Russell, Barbara Spaulding, Jenna Laird, Dani Harris and Emily Worden, who had a perfect score and received Best Performers of the Day in their room. Trumpet soloist Valerie Kolb also earned Best Performer of the Day in her contest room.
