MINOOKA – Congratulations are extended to Minooka Community High School senior Allison Walther, daughter of Debbie Walther of Channahon, for being named the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club’s “Student of the Month” for March.

In the classroom, Walther maintains a 4.38 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. Her academic abilities have earned Walther placement on the high honor roll and recognition as an Illinois State Scholar. Outside the classroom, she is active in several student organizations, including National Honor Society as treasurer, Spanish National Honor Society and Math Team. She also was a member of the lacrosse club team during her freshman, sophomore and junior years at Minooka High.

After graduation, Walther plans to attend Centre College in Danville, Ky., where she will major in economics. Once she graduates from college, she aspires to become a member of the Peace Corps’ economic development program.
