Earth Day recycling event to be held on April 22

MINOOKA – From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 22, the village of Minooka and Grundy County will be hosting an E-Waste/Recycling Collection Event at the Minooka Village Hall parking lot, 121 E. McEvilly Road, Minooka.

This event is open to all residents and businesses. Rain or shine, this event will take place and we will be there to transfer all of your used electronics from your vehicle. Verdeco Plastics will collect cardboard, plastic, Styrofoam and plastic water bottles. Grundy County ERCO will be collecting household batteries and small CFL bulbs. The Grundy County Coroner’s office will be onsite collecting expired drugs and needles. In addition, Shred-X will be shredding your important documents from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. only.

The following items will be accepted at the event: televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, printers, printer cartridges, laptops and laptop accessories, hard drives, power cables, networking equipment, fax machines, copiers, cell phones and phones, CD players, DVD/VHS video players, electronic games, UPSs, MP3s, and PSPs and microwaves.

You do not have to be a Grundy County resident to participate in this event.
