MORRIS – Downtown Morris was the site of some serious shopping Thursday night as ladies from throughout the area took to the stores for Morris Retail Association’s annual Girl’s Night Out.

Stores offered discounts and freebies as well as refreshments to ladies who came out to shop ’til they dropped before going to an after party at Chapin’s restaurant where they were eligible to win a portion of thousands of dollars worth of prizes.

“It’s a new tradition for us,” said Kristin Pleva, of Oswego. “I’m out with my mom and my mother-in-law to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend.”

The Morris Retail Association also used the night to raise money for the First Presbyterian Charity, Loving Deeds For Kids In Need. Money raised from a 50-50 raffle and profits from the sale of celebrity cutouts went to Loving Deeds For Kids In Need.
