Garden walk canceled; flower show still on

Published: Tuesday, May 27, 2014 9:19 p.m. CDT

MORRIS – The Morris Area Garden Club has canceled its annually scheduled garden walk due to the severe winter weather. Many gardens were damaged, and it is too difficult to get ready for sharing with the public.

The club has scheduled its annual MAGC flower show and competition for members from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 21 at the Morris Area Public Library.

Tea and cookies will be available in the library garden, and the event is free and open to the public.

Members of the Garden Club help maintain the library garden and encourage everyone to visit the many beautiful public gardens available in Morris, such as the butterfly garden in the CanalPort Park and the newly created GROWS garden at the Grundy County Administration Building on Union Street.
