MORRIS — For the first time since 2006, the Morris softball team won a regional title Saturday, taking a 2-1 decision over Ottawa in the Class 3A Morris Regional.

With a span of 30 minutes, the Redskins finished off a sweep of both the baseball and softball regionals on their home fields. Last week, the soccer team won a regional at home, making Morris a perfect 3 for 3 in hosting regionals for the spring season.

Freshman Abby Burns got the win on the mound for Morris, which improved to 20-8 on the season. They will play Tinley Park on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Manteno Sectional.
