MORRIS – Wondering what to do to kick off Father’s Day weekend? Bring Dad down to the 3 French Hens French Country Market along the banks of the historic I & M Canal in downtown Morris.
The second market of the season will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The park will have everything from gourmet cheeses, farm fresh meats, produce, homemade pies, pastries, antiques, artisans, upcycled items and repurposed items, according to a news release from 3 French Hens.
The ever popular old, rusty and unique garden artists will be bringing some new designs.
Backyard bags will be selling their one-of-a-kind bean bag games and are always willing to customize colors, sports teams, and more.
If Dad has a green thumb, there will be perennials, herbs and annuals in planted containers, or available for those who love digging in the dirt.
The Hens encourage shoppers to bring a tote to carry market goods, or stop by the Hens booth and pick up their 2014 French Hens cotton carryall.
The French Hens are very excited for June’s Market, since it also is the kick off for the first Morris Cruise Night of the season, according to the release.
With Pam’s corn dogs and Clearview Farms pork chop sandwiches, come spend the day with the Hens, then wander one block north to the boutique filled downtown district.
Plan on grabbing a early dinner at one of the local eateries and spend a night under the stars reminiscing over the 700 plus vintage and classic cars, trucks and scooters.
The 3 French Hens French Country Market is held rain or shine at Canal Park, 123 W. Illinois Ave., Morris. For information on shopping or selling, contact the 3 French Hens at 815-513-5600, on Facebook, or at www.3frenchhensmarket.blogspot.com.
