Electronic recycling event planned

MORRIS – Grundy County Environmental and Resource Conservation Office has scheduled an E-Waste/White Goods Collection for Sept. 12 and 13.

The event is for businesses and residents and will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Environtech Landfill in Morris, 1800 N. Ashley Road. Volunteers will be on hand to assist all of the residents with transferring all electronics from the resident’s vehicles, according to a news release from the county.

The drop off for businesses/residents is Sept. 12 and residents-only will be Sept. 13. You need not be a Grundy County resident to participate in the event.

The following electronics will be accepted: TVs, microwaves, computers and accessories, monitors, printers, printer cartridges, laptops and laptop accessories, hard drives, power cables, networking equipment, fax machines, copiers, cellphones and phones, CD players, DVD/VHS video players, electronic games, UPSs, MP3s, PSPs, holiday lights, vacuum cleaners, cameras, fans, toaster ovens.
