Ottawa High teachers return to classroomsOTTAWA, Ill. (AP) — Teachers are back in class at Ottawa High School after the school board and the teachers’ union reached a tentative contract agreement. The Ottawa Township High School Education Association ratified the agreement before heading back to work Monday. The school board is set to meet Wednesday to ratify it also. School Board President George Hupp says details of the deal will be made public after the board vote. Teachers walked off the job last month after talks broke down, leaving the school’s 1,600 students out of class. The teachers had objected to a school board offer that required them to chip in for family health insurance coverage. Comments
